Just some (more) pics for the moment of the first, new, official model Lambretta since the 1970’s. (remember where you saw the first ‘unofficial’ pic folks!) I’m sure there are going to be lots of thoughts and opinions on this one… My initial reactions are that it’s obviously a modern scooter, not a slavish reproduction of a classic lambretta, but, like the reinventions of the Mini, and the Beetle for the 21st century, it includes enough ‘nods’ to the past to be clearly a Lambretta.
The lines are bold and sharp… it has an aggressive, no nonsense stance…that looks like it’s going fast even when standing still.

Here’s a little cautionary tale my mate told me about drink riding – not that anyone sensible enough to read this blog would do anything as stupid as that! – So, my mate had been at the office Christmas party and had a few drinks, and (quite rightly) decided against riding home, so took a bus. On the way home he saw the old bill pulling loads of people over for the breathalyser; cars, motorbikes and even a few push bikes! The bus was just waved through by a copper. My mate congratulated himself ‘right decision!’. When he got home, it was a different story – a complete bastard to park – to be honest he didn’t know he could drive a double decker – never mind park one, and he couldn’t even remember where he got it!
I’ll get me crash helmet…
Anyways, have a great Christmas, ride safe, and when it comes lets all have a great 2017 – LOTS of cool stuff happening next year!
