Cute Classics

Found some of the cutest classics money can buy on a well known auction site starting with e. And they’re not going for silly money. More than I can afford, but not silly money.

First up is this glorious little Glas GoggomobilGlasGoggomobilTS250

A German car with a definite Italian look about it, this rare TS250 Coupe is being sold as a non-running project. The good news is the car is pretty much complete and original. Having spent most of it’s 59 years in South Africa it’s almost rust-free too. A cracking little motor for £8.5k.

Next, and just a pretty is another tiny classic, this Autobianchi Berlina

Autobianchi_

Dating from 1966, it’s got Italian good look in a small package – a stylish alternative to the more commonly seen Fiat 500, with which it shares many mechanicals.

Talking of 500’s – there’s always a few on eBay… but this Giardiniera offers a little more space than the standard saloon.

Finally, for now, is this 1962 BMW Isetta… the classic ‘bubble car’. It’s not cheap, at a shade under £14k, but I’ve seen them a lot more expensive than this…  it purports to be in excellent nick, dry stored for a number of years. Before then, it had a full engine rebuild.

Lovely Italian Model…

CristinaBuccinoModelD

…with Cristina Buccino sitting on it! Cristina is a model and actress from Italy, and may have a soft spot for the Lambretta, as I’ve managed to find another picture of her on one… the ill-fated LN of a few years ago.

If you’re interested in finding out more about Cristina, her website is worth a gander – its in Italian, but if you can’t read Italian, you can just look at the pictures…

Scooter Sporran…

s-l1600Loving this little Sprint Rack Toolbag… just big enough for a can of two stroke, a mix jug, and a couple of spanners… or a doorstop cheese & pickled onion sandwich and a snickers. Comes complete with an ali backing plate to bolt onto your sprint rack. I think this is a classy item, I hope me calling it a sporran won’t put you off purchasing 🙂

It’s selling for a not unreasonable £65.95 on eBay.

Officially Licensed Lambretta Scale Models

Spotted these on Amazon… a range of decent looking Lambretta models, four in total…… that would grace any Lambretta lovers’ china cabinet (if people have such thing these days). Theres a Model A, An LI Series 1, a Series 2 Rallymaster and a GP200.

The attention to detail looks pretty good, although I’ve only seen the photographs, not the models in the flesh. Here’s the blurb: Officially Licensed Lambretta scootesr that have been faithfully recreated with handsculpted and handpainted additions for outstanding detail” The scooters are approximately, 8cm in height, 10cm in length.

They’re made by the Bradford Exchange. Pics and links below… there appears to be fairly limited stock, so get your orders in quick if you want one!

1955 NSU Lambretta 150

1955_NSU_Lam_50_BJ-Hero

I’ve previously found a few gems on the Italian eBay site, so I thought I’d have a look and see what’s going on elsewhere on the continent… and found this rather wunderbar NSU Lambretta with Dynastart… which the seller assures us  works if the battery is fully charged. Looks like it’s in great original condition. I’m loving those saddles!

It’s priced at €3,500… and as it doesn’t ship to the UK (if you’re in the UK that is!), you’ll have to arrange collection.

UPDATE: I originally thought the model name was BJ, but it was my mistranslation from German… Bj. stands for Baujahr, or year of construction. Well, everyday’s a school day!

A – you’re adorable…

modela_parrspeed_ebay_heroOnly manufactured from October 1947 until October 1948  this Model A an extremely rare model. According to records there was only 9669 ever produced, and they rarely come up for sale – especially in the UK. She has the correct frame and engine numbers and the engine turns over with good compression. Once fully restored (and tbh she looks pretty good fettle at the moment) this model can fetch over £13,000… so is worth the time and effort to take her back to her former glory. And, of course you’ll own the model that kicks off the whole Lambretta story. Of course, the best thing about the model A is this.

It’s on sale on eBay for £6k from Lambretta experts Parrspeed in Chorley, Lancashire. Here’s the link.

SoopaDoopa Scootacar

scootacar_heroLong time readers will have my spotted my penchant for a microcar… and this British designed & built Scootacar is a cracker. Made by The Hunslet Engine Company from Leeds, it was allegedly designed for one of the directors who wanted something easier to park than her Jag!

This is a Mk.1 from 1961, in “outstanding & running” condition – it comes with an extensive history file, original sales literature, current V5c with original number plate, and even a (very collectable) SAMs die cast model. All the spares left-over from the restoration are included, along with original rear LEP lights.

It’s on eBay for a shade under £25k.
