Officially Licensed Lambretta Scale Models

Spotted these on Amazon… a range of decent looking Lambretta models, four in total…… that would grace any Lambretta lovers’ china cabinet (if people have such thing these days). Theres a Model A, An LI Series 1, a Series 2 Rallymaster and a GP200.

The attention to detail looks pretty good, although I’ve only seen the photographs, not the models in the flesh. Here’s the blurb: Officially Licensed Lambretta scootesr that have been faithfully recreated with handsculpted and handpainted additions for outstanding detail” The scooters are approximately, 8cm in height, 10cm in length.

They’re made by the Bradford Exchange. Pics and links below… there appears to be fairly limited stock, so get your orders in quick if you want one!

Lambretta Cuckoo clock

Screen_shot_2011-07-26_at_12

Really. This is NOT a wind up. Well, I suppose being a clock, it might be a bit of a wind up 😉 I featured Bradford Exchange Lambretta Egg a while back, and I was a bit uncertain about the concept. Well, I’m not uncertain about this little gem… It’s absolutely crap! Why would you want to style a cuckoo clock of all things with Lambretta trim and branding.

I can only imagine anybody buying this for kitchy novelty reasons… and £125 is a bit much for a bad joke. it’s sooo bad I initially thought it was a Viz style wind-up. The sad thing is, the quality of the modelling of the actual scooters looks pretty good… I haven’t seen one in the flesh of course. Just flog the scooters as a model on a wooden plynth like this  and forget about making crappy cuckoo clocks. If anybody has the good taste to own a Lambretta, they ain’t going to buy one of these…
If I’m wrong, (and please tell me in the comments if you think I am!) and you would be delighted to own one of these “mastercrafted wall-hanging tribute showcases’  …would thrill to seeing appear and scooter rotate every hour, accompanied by the authentic, throaty roar of an original SX 200 engine… you can get hold of one here. Or you might want to check that the whole things not a joke.

Lambretta Collectables

Screen_shot_2011-04-08_at_14

Hmm, not sure about these… “inspired by the artistry of Peter Carl Fabergé, this treasure has been handcrafted from fine Heirloom Porcelain® and handpainted for intricate detail. Finished with silvery touches, this masterpiece is adorned with traditional Lambretta colours and logos”. Very nice… but why put it in an egg? Still, it seems they’ve got the detail right, and at £39.99 they’re not outrageously expensive. There’s two in the range at the moment… The SX with the union flag panels, and the iconic Rallymaster. Further issues to follow, including a 200 DL (or GP as we tend to know it in the UK). See for yourself on the Bradford Exchange website. Could be the perfect present for the Lambrettista in your life.
