Who can take a rainbow…

Wrap it in a sigh… soak it in the sun and make a groovy lemon pie…Cotton Candy Lambro

If anyone can, this chap can. Not just the Candy Man, the Cotton Candy Man. That’s Candy Floss, this side of the pond of course. And, despite the fact he works out of a Lambro, I haven’t seen a more sinister looking bloke since Pennywise the Clown in Stephen King’s “It”. I reckon he murdered the bloke who’s clothes they are… they don’t certainly don’t fit him. And hanging around outside a school, by the look of it… Definitely dodgy. As it say’s on the Lambro “Here he comes…”

One for fans of Doctor Who, Redheads, and the Lambretta.

Not necessarily in that order. Nice photo set of Karen Gillan, the Scottish actress who played the Doctors glamorous and feisty assistant Amy Pond in the cult sci-fi series. And sorry for posting without your prior permission, I tried to track you down, honest. Nice shots.

From the WTF? files…

1497623_547385542013050_1966654019_nThe back-end is definitely, definitely Lambretta, or Lambretta under license… (such as NSU) An LC, or an LD, it’s hard to tell. But definitely, definitely Lambretta. But the front end is definitely, definitely NOT. Various suggestions have been made on Facebook, such a a Peugeot or maybe a FEBO from Spain. So what’s doing on? Is it the scooter version of a “Cut-and-shut”, some weird hybrid mutant? or was this a production machine? Can anyone shed any light?

From another look at the pic, I don’t think this is an original vintage shot, rather a modern shot made to look old.

A girl and a Lambretta

lambretta modetteIt’s not the most cutting edge post. A pretty girl on a Lambretta scooter. But who needs cutting edge all the time. Enjoy.

PS. If you like this kind of thing, search under the ‘glamour’ Tag, in the “Tag Cloud” under the search bar.

Little Things Mean A Lot – Lambretta Ad

Video

There’s a lot to like in this ad… not least the Lammies! The advertiser, AXA, has paid attention to get some of the little details right (or rather their ad agency has). The lead actor even looks like he’s properly into the whole mod thing, even if he’s a little young to be “an original”. I wasn’t going to post this, as I thought everybody would have already seen this… but then I though, “well, only in the UK”, as the blog has more or less a global reach (more than 100 countries last time I checked).

Nice pipe.

9673432f28efecd002e34a7f0025ff64Clobber? Check. Scooter? Check. Pipe?  Maybe lose the pipe. Though sucking a thoughtful pipe immediately makes you look more intelligent. Ok. Keep the pipe. Maybe I should get one…

If anybody know who this is, or who took the shot I will happily credit them.

Flakey Framebreather

$_57MetalFlakey that is. I think this is what you’d call a ‘real bobby dazzler’ gold and copper metalflake on S1 Framebreather. Spotted this on beauty on eBay… it’s in just finished condition and got a Stage 4, 200cc engine in, so the performance won’t be a let down. I know this is a late 50’s scoot… but for me, it’s got a bit of a 70’s vibe about it. In a good way. If Brian Connolly rode a Lammy, it would look like this. Matched set

Screen Shot 2013-11-27 at 15.03.44  Escort RS200There’s some nice machines in the Britanny Ferries sponsored Retrozone at the Motorcycle Live. The star of the stand is clearly the “matching pair” of a ’64 150 Special and a ’74 Mk1 Escort RS2000… what a classic combo. There are also a brace of “Fizzies” and Fizzy competitors  from Suzuki and Honda. All bikes I didn’t rate too highly ‘back in the day’ but they seem to have improved with age… or I’ve mellowed.

The Motorcycle Live show is on at the NEC, Birmingham, until the 1st of December.

Lambretta Shot

KeithNairn-LambrettaS1Not a lot to add to this, but a nice shot of a nice scoot. By Keith Nairn, on Flickr, his photostream is worth checking out if you, like me, like classic bikes (some nice Laverdas for instance) and other mechanical ‘boys toys’.
