Scooter techniques running maintenance DVD

Dvdlambrettamaintenance
Bought one of these online the other day, and it’s just arrived.
I’ll review it when I’ve watched it. If you don’t want to wait for the review you can probably pick one up from your local scooter shop, or online here.

Scooter Commuter

A great ‘look at life’ video from 1962… it’s a great primer on scooter history too. Found this via Johnny  Scoots tumblr blog.

Vintage Lambretta Scrambling video

The Lambretta scrambler that is for sale on eBay that I posted previously comes with some cine film footage of scooter scrambling… which prompted me to do a little search on YouTube. I found this marvelous period video. Who knows… that eBay scrambler could even be on the vid.
I love the precision tools being used for the last minute adjustments… seemed you only really needed 3 tools… a hacksaw, a hammer, and a bigger hammer!

The star of Rock and Chips

Jamesbuckleyjessashworth-rockc

Don’t know if you caught Rock and Chips (a prequel to Only Fools and Horses) by the late, great John Sullivan. To be honest, I think it’s a bit hit and miss, comedy wise. The star of the show is supposed to be James Buckley as a young Del Boy, but for my money it’s his lovely Series 1 Lambretta.

There’s a few great shots of Del and his mates off to Brighton on an assortment of Series 1 and 2’s.  Unfortunately Rock and Chips isn’t available on  iPlayer for some reason (probably because the BBC want to flog us a box set!) but here’s a link to the BBC’s page.
I got the photo’s off f the Zimbio site. Quite fancy a set of those horns myself…

How to build a Lambretta in two minutes.

Well, the video is two minutes… the build took considerably longer!

The Second Annual MotorScooter Rally at the Isle of Man, 1959

Found this fantastic video on YouTube. Those were the days… Bear in mind, when you see everybody in their jumpers, scarves and macintoshes – this was the height of summer! Halcyon days. (I don’t actually know what halcyon means… but I expect these days were halcyon).

A little bit of musical nostagia from Brazil…

Emilinha Borba (she was big in Brazil in the 1950’s apparently) musial number. With scooters.

Lucozade Mod Ad

From the “in case you missed it” department, a classic bit of advertising from Lucozade. Nicely done.

Thanks to my mate Tony for reminding me about this one.

Duffy

Welsh songstress Duffy gets a bit of glamour into her video… a rather nice Series 1 at 56 seconds in!
