I’ve previously found a few gems on the Italian eBay site, so I thought I’d have a look and see what’s going on elsewhere on the continent… and found this rather wunderbar NSU Lambretta with Dynastart… which the seller assures us works if the battery is fully charged. Looks like it’s in great original condition. I’m loving those saddles!
It’s priced at €3,500… and as it doesn’t ship to the UK (if you’re in the UK that is!), you’ll have to arrange collection.

UPDATE: I originally thought the model name was BJ, but it was my mistranslation from German… Bj. stands for Baujahr, or year of construction. Well, everyday’s a school day!
Long time readers will have my spotted my penchant for a microcar… and this British designed & built Scootacar is a cracker. Made by The Hunslet Engine Company from Leeds, it was allegedly designed for one of the directors who wanted something easier to park than her Jag!
Found this over on the Italian version of eBay… a racing Lambretta prepared for the classic Milano Taranto stage race – a classic that ranks alongside the Paris-Dakar, Bol d’Or and Isle of Man TT. Based, by the look of it on a cutdown LD (or it could be a LC… any shaft drive experts out there care to enlighten me) rather than the more usually seen race prepped D’s it’s got a bunch of race ‘goodies’ including a double tank and a trumpet carb. Certainly looks the business.

I spotted this rare plastic model kit on eBay. The scooter is an SX200, and, unlike the illustration on the box, is apparently a very good likeness to the real thing, being based on an original Italian kit by Pyro. 
Well, it wouldn’t look a million miles from an Iso Milano would it? The front half looks very Vespa, while from the headset back it’s got distinctly Lambretta styling. Dating from 1957/58, it’s a remarkable ‘modern’ looking scooter for the day… Lambretta’s still had the headlight on the horncasing then. So, best of both worlds, or a bit of chimera? I suppose that’s a matter of taste.
TWO Lambrettas for Christmas of course! There’s a matching pair of LD’s on eBay at the moment. I must admit, if I found £11k down the back of the sofa I’d be tempted.
Not a lot of description on this one, so if you’re interested, I’s suggest a little personal research… I spotted this Model A on the Italian eBay site. Now it’s obviously where it all began for Lambretta… so this is an important machine. They don’t come up that often, so this may be your chance to own a bit of Lambretta and automotive history!
On the Italian eBay site is this rather lovely LC and sidecar combo. It’s €12,500, which bearing in mind the state of the pound, is a little on the steep side. If you’re not lucky enough to live in Italy, he’ll ship it internationally.
