TWO Lambrettas for Christmas of course! There’s a matching pair of LD’s on eBay at the moment. I must admit, if I found £11k down the back of the sofa I’d be tempted.
On the Italian eBay site is this rather lovely LC and sidecar combo. It’s €12,500, which bearing in mind the state of the pound, is a little on the steep side. If you’re not lucky enough to live in Italy, he’ll ship it internationally.
So you’ve spent a few quid getting your scoot the way you want it… why not spend a few more documenting it for posterity? You could take some snaps yourself, or do it properly (your the kind of person that does things properly, right?), and get it shot professionally in a studio… except most studios are set up to shoot people, not motorcycles and scooters.

There’s a lovely LD over on eBay in in unmolested ‘time warp’ condition.
The scoot has been laid up since 1970 – it still retains it’s final MOT certificate and 1969 tax disc (also present is the all important buff log book).
When asked what the ideal number of Lambrettas to own is, the usual answer is ‘one more than I’ve got’. Spanish-based ex-pat Colin Bunn taken that concept and run with it.
Colin has amassed an absolutely incredible collection of Lambrettas (and associated marques), in what must surely be the world’s largest collection of Lambrettas (unless you know different). Now, due to some unfortunate circumstances, most of the collection will be up for sale…

Loving this. Cracking little LD on eBay that was restored back in the 80’s… that has mellowed nicely. Sometimes a newly restored scooter can look fantastic, but to my eyes a little too “new”. And while I increasingly like a bit of ‘patina’ (we used to call it rust, back in the day) a nice, clean machine is hard to beat. I think you get the best of both worlds with this scoot. Not so pristine you’d be scared to ride her, nice enough to want to wash and wax at the weekend!
She comes with some great period accessories, which lift the scoot from stock; the whitewalls, sidepanel stars (I’m not always keen on these, but they just “work” on this scoot) alloy airscoops, hub and fork trim, original NSU clock and original speedo. All things that add to the appeal of the scooter, rather than spoiling the lovely lines. Very nice. If I had any room in the garage, or money in the bank, Id be putting a bid in on her! I’ve been following Hugo’s blog for a while now, he has set himself the task of producing a fresh new drawing every day and posting it on his blog… something he’s been doing for over three years now. His watercolour sketches have a wonderful combination of “looseness” and accuracy. In a recent visit to MuVIM ( Valencian Museum of Enlightenment & Modernity – now theres a title!), he sketched the Lambretta Model D, and LD on display, along with two Spanish bikes. I don’t know about you, but I think he has really caught the essence of the machines! To cap it all I even got a mention in his blog, which made my day!
