Check out the EVENTS page my comprehensive list of 2019 Events.

If you’re running an event, get in touch and I’ll list it for free (If I deem it appropriate – oh the power of being in charge of your own blog – it’s going to my head!)

Stay Exposed, Motorcycle Bivouac

If you’re one of those hardy souls who likes to sleep under canvas next to your scoot, this could be for you. It looks like it’s a quality product, made with care and decent materials – and rolls up to just 15cm diameter and 45cm wide. Just use your imagination to swap out all the motorcycle images for Lambrettas, and you’ll get the idea.

It’s a kickstarter project, and if you feel the urge,  you can get involved here.  Or there’s always the B&B.

After the rainfall…

Nice little vid, posted by Sticky Features Website… After the Rainfall… “Driving beats, keyboard abuse and intense guitar. The Little Notes deliver British Indie with hints of The Charlatans at their best…from album So High Down available here

I think it’s rather good (the music AND the vid) 🙂

An Aberdonian abroad

The LCAGary sent me some pics of himself and a bunch of mates from Aberdeen… a loose affiliation of lambretta lovers from the Granite City who call themselves the LCA whenever they meet up. This is just a few of the bunch, but there’s some seriously nice scoots there!

Vietnam-DaNangRun

Gary’s currently resident in Vietnam, and scooted up to the Da Nang Rally last month, an excellent run… and looks like there’s a wee bit more sunshine than in Aberdeen, eh Gary?

4Nations Lambretta Rally 2014

http://youtu.be/bgLcsNe-1hQ

The Ulster Lambretta Club hosts the 4Nations rally in Ballycastle inviting members of the Lambretta clubs of Great Britain, Ireland and Scotland to the north Anrtim coast for the weekend with a rideout to Portrush, a custom show, plenty of music, drink and craic.

Run… 90’s Scooter run documentary

A cut above the usual documentary about scooters… avoiding most of the clichés, and featuring Scootering magazine’s Sticky (whatever happened to him?), I don’t know how I missed this Channel 4 documentary ‘back in the day’ but I’ve got absolutely no recollection of seeing this before. Just watch it, it’s brilliant.

Euro Lambretta 2013 – Avignon

EuroLambretta 2013 AvignonI should have posted more about this ages ago… but as I’m not going, (I’ve never done a “Euro”. One day, one day.), I’m  just too envious of all you Lambrettisti who are making their final preparations, or are even on their way.

If anyone wants me to post any pictures, tales of the journey or the event itself, I’ll be more than happy to.

Euro Lambretta Avignon CampsiteLooks like the weather is going to be good too. This picture was taken from the official campsite, yesterday.

Keep an eye on the Facebook page; here.

Good luck guys (and girls), have fun, ride safe.

80’s Scooter Rally

Video

This video starts off with some footage we’ve all seen a million times before, mods at the seaside in the 60’s… which is always good for another watch. But the real gem is when it switches to the Scarborough 1983 rally… the scoots, the clothes, the hair… brings it all back.

Oh and incidentally, it kind of reinforces my last post about the Serveta Lynx and the Vespa P-range… ONE Lynx and a ton of PX’s and P200E’s… To be fair, the Lynx wasn’t launched until 1983, and the P-Range had been around since 1977… (although tbh, I hadn’t realised it was as early as that).

Lowlanders SC 15th Anniversary Run

RIght, so the blog has seen a dearth of updates lately… largely due to work and family commitments. In fact, this is my first post of 2013, which makes my personal target of at least one good post a week seem little a little poor.

Anyway… on to the good news. With the worst of the winter behind us (surely!!) and the days getting longer, if not that much warmer… the 2013 scootering season is kicking off. One of my plans for teh blog is to have a calendar of events, and here’s one for your dairy to start things off. It’s not until the middle of June so there’s plenty of time to make arrangements!

Whiskynomoreflyer

One of the reasons I’m posting this is that I designed the flyer… well, after all that’s my day job. BTW, if you run a club and want a logo, t-shirt or flyer done… drop me a line. Or if you’ve got an event you want publised, do likewise. email crocodilejock@gmail.com

My mate Iain, now resident in the beatiful Scottish borders rides with the Lowlanders, and it’s a part of the world I know reasonably well… having relatives in the wonderfully named village of Ecclefechan. I’ve holidayed near Portpatrick too… and it’s a great little harbour town… but they won’t know what’s hit them when the scooters arrive! So if you fancy a run away from some of the more usual destinations this summer bear it in mind.

There. First post of 2013 done. Wasn’t hard was it? More to come soon. Promise.

Possibly the best scooter club rally video yet?

If you know anybody who doesn’t ‘get’ the whole scooter ‘thing’… get them to watch this video. If they still don’t get it, there’s no hope for them. Created for the Lebowski Scooter Gang, it’s to highlight their 7th Camuno Scooter Rally, 29th June – 1st July 2012. It looks like it’s going to be a pretty cool event – set within medieval castle walls with all the usual music, fun and froclics that accomany these things… I wish I could go! More about the event; here. (In Italian, but hey, there’s always Google Translate).

Back to the video… doesn’t that GP look great in front of all those Vespas! (there’s another Lambretta in the pack too). And if this isn’t the coolest vid produced by a scooter club, let me know what is, and I’ll feature it on the blog.
