Modshoes video

Nice little video to promote their cord dessies.

1960’s Nogoodniks from Hong Kong…

The film title says Hong Kong Teddy Boys… but they’re not quite Teds as I remember them. Seriously cool scooters, whatever they are… can anybody Id them (the scooters, not the actors!)?

Don’t try this at home

But then a again… you wouldn’t… but if you were stuck at the side of the road with a hole in your piston and had to get home, and there’s a handy dumpster nearby…

This one gets bodge of the year (so far). If you know a better one, send me a link.
10/10 for ingenuity!

Looks fun!

A Class send off for a Class act

Anybody who attended a scooter rally in the 80’s or 90’s will know the name Tony Class. A larger than life character who loved the scene, the music and the scooters, Tony was one of the few who kept the scene going through difficult times. He sadly lost his battle with illness last month. Scootering magazine has written a piece here.

My condolences to his family and many friends.

These videos are worth a watch too.

RIP Tony.

1965 Milan to Taranto – The toughest scooter trial in the world?

Milan-Taranto PicPete Davis of the  British Lambretta Archive sent me this fantastic  pic of a couple of LCGB riders in the 1965 Milan to Taranto a 1,000 mile regularity trial, a event organised by the Lambretta Club d’Italia.

A little digging led me to discover this great video on YouTube…

…and a fantastic article on the ever excellent Team S Equipe blog, here.

EuroLambretta… 2015. Yep. Twenty FIFTEEN!

So, with the 2014 Scootering season kicking off in style this weekend, many are starting to think about forthcoming events, such as the EuroLambretta in Davos, Switzerland.  But the Lambretta Club Austria want you to be thinking further ahead than that… and have posted this video to get you in the mood for 2015. There’s efficiency for you!

Very nice video it is too.

Smell the two stroke…

One day, we’ll all be riding around on eco-friendly electric Lambrettas (like this one)… but until then, there’s nothing like the smell of 2 stroke, catching in the back of your throat and the unique sound of a Lambretta engine. It’s something only Lambrettisti understand!

This video from Rui Tavares in Portugal captures it perfectly. Loving that orange crankcase side too.

If you’re off to Whitby this weekend, have fun. If your’e riding you’re Lammie from Johannesburg to Durban, have fun too. In fact have fun and ride safe whatever you’re doing! Happy Easter!

Lebowski Latest…

Long term followers might remember the video I posted a while back from the Lebowski Scooter Gang, out of Vallecamonica, Italy… about their run to the castle in Camuno. At the time, the quality of the video blew me away, I think it was genuinely the best club video I’d seen. Well, the bar has raised, with many fine videos posted… the ones by Woodsy for example (check this one out).

But the guys (and girls) from Vallecomonica have done it again, taking 70’s cop shows, (Starsky & Hutch etc.)  as their inspiration this time! Superb!

There is more to come, so stay tuned. Find out more about the run on their site; here.

Thanks for the heads up Aldo.

Motorroller Scooter Custom Show Ried 2014

Ok it’s in German, put let the pictures do the talking. And I don’t know about you, but German is one of those languages that I can pic up the gist of if you pay attention. Unfortunately the focus seems to be on the Vepsa on show, including some rather odd Vespa mopeds, and a nutter doing some quite impressive stunt riding. There is a glimpse of a rather lovely S1 with a trailer,  a really stunning skinhead / suedehead style  skelly… really, really nicely done that… and a rather tasty race replica GP with a nice Martini paint job.

What surprises me more is the scale and feel of the event… it’s got the feel of something like the Ideal Home Exhibition… and a really mainstream audience.
